Sandridge Cocker Review By: Chris Bain/THE SCOG
The Sandridge Cocker -- Worth Getting Rid Of The Wife And Children?

>  Introduction...

Ok, as we all see the title "The Sandridge Cocker -- Worth Getting Rid Of The Wife And Children??", what the title of this article is expressing is the expense of this high tech tournament grade paintball gun. If anyone else has seen the prices for this marker you wouldn't believe what you were looking at it couldn't be the least bit possible, A "Marker" for that price?? How did we go from the original Splatmaster Marker which was made to mark trees that were going to be cut down, all the way to an Electronic "Paintball gun"?? I am wondering the same thing, don't worry. Although you will not find the answer to that question in this high end review of the Sandridge Cocker, you are about to get the review straight from an Amateur A paintball player that has used the Sandridge Cocker to it's fullest capabilities and continues to voice his opinion on the making and producing of the Sandridge Cocker. Strap your safety belts on kids, we're goin for a ride!!

>  First Expectations And Looking Over The Gun...

To start things off, the review for the Sandridge Cocker was done on a Gold Vertical Feed Fishbone Supercharged body with a SPANKY Low Pressure Valve, Palmers Stabilizer Inline Reg, KAPP Rhino Reg and a DYE Boomstick 12" barrel. Very nice looking bodies. The review gun is pictured below.

The gun was received and taken out of the box right when it arrived and we threw a PMS SS4500 Nitrogen System on the gun with a KAPP Cradle, or might I say we tried to do that. The screws that had come with the gun had not been long enough in order to go through the KAPP cradle as well as the very well known "box". Not a problem though, went to Home Depot and bought some stainless screws that were plenty long enough to go through the cradle, box and 3 inches into the frame. We then gassed the gun up and their was a slight leak coming from the Solenoid exhaust port, hmmm, not a problem all we need to do is adjust the rock reg on the front of the gun, KAPP Rhino Reg.

>  Performance After Being Shot About A Million Times...

I must say this gun sure did throw some paint & FAST! We played with the Sandridge Cocker in a couple team practices and it shoots amazing, I don't know how else to explain it. The gun shot just as accurate as any other Mechanical Cocker and had the range along with all other Autococker techniques.

The gun wouldn't seem to break or chop any paint either, we literally tried getting the gun to break paint by shooting it at the fastest rate possible and even by turning the gun on it's side and shooting about 8BPS, still wouldn't break paint. The reason why this gun doesn't break paint is because of the photo eye that has been attached to the side of the body, what this photo eye does is tell the board inside the box if a ball is completely loaded in the breech or not. If the ball is not completely loaded it wont shoot, the bolt will stick in the back position until the ball has fully loaded. The way I like to explain this is by comparing it to the Angel or the Shocker for instance, they both have dip switches which you set to tell the board (CPU, like in your computer) how long the bolt needs to stay in the back position in order to let a ball load completely. Well, as we all know that's not always the most precise way of telling the board how long the bolt needs to stay back, reasoning because what if your viewloader doesn't keep up with the rates of fire your dishing out on the trigger and cant catch up with the gun?? Uh oh, you now have balls feeding at different milliseconds along with paint chopping because of this, the photo eye solves all that nonsense.

>  The Undisputed Question, How Fast Can The Sandridge Cocker Shoot?

The Sandridge Cocker is capable of shooting as fast as paint will feed into the gun. The board is programmed to beable to shoot up to 25+ shots, although the gun wont let you shoot that fast unless you are capable of feeding paint through it that fast, reason why this is is because of the photo eye, it wont let the gun shoot unless paint is loaded into the breech. Viewloader says their Revolutions will feed 12-15 BPS, plenty of fire power I would think.
